Enrollment Successfully Concluded

At Model Village 1 – Mehmood Panhwar, a total of 399 students have been enrolled, comprising 218 in-school students and 181 out-of-school children across 10 camps. Likewise, in Model Village 2 – Methalo Momal ji Mari, 243 students have been enrolled, with 124 in-school students and 119 out-of-school children through 6 camps.

Completion of Kit Distribution

The first intervention outlined in ITA’s Emergency/Recovery plan has successfully concluded with the completion of the distribution process.

We have distributed the following items among the selected 391 SELD schools:

  • 65,000 Back to School Kits
  • 10,000 Dignity Kits
  • 4,000 Hygiene & Health Kits
  • 800 Stabilization Kits

Current Enrolment

In Shikarpur and Ghotki, a total of 727 camps have been established, creating a nurturing educational environment for a diverse student body. Across all cohorts and batches, an impressive 29,922 students have enrolled in these camps, showcasing the widespread impact of this educational initiative.

Advocacy Conference

The School Education Literacy Department (SELD) joined forces with UNICEF as the primary sponsor, along with esteemed organizations like VSO, Save the Children, the Pakistan Alliance for Maths and Science (PAMS), and Idara-e-Taleem-o-Aagahi (ITA) as technical partners, to organize a significant two-day conference on 11th-12th July 2023.

The event took place at the Marriott Hotel Karachi and was focused on addressing the critical gaps in Foundational Learning (FL) and Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in emergency situations, considering the complexity of challenges involved.

Baseline Survey for Children Enrolled in CPB Camps!

Our para teachers are conducting a baseline survey of the students who have been enrolled in our learning recovery camps for teaching at the right level (TARL), Chalo-Parho-Barho (CPB) over 55-60 days, for addressing foundational literacy and numeracy for 30,000 in-school children at risk and out of school children (drop-outs & never enrolled) ages 6-13 years in the districts Ghotki and Shikarpur.

ITA celebrated International Day for Education in the flood-affected schools of Ghotki and Shikarpur Sindh. The children held play cards and banners to mark the occasion that emphasized the right of every child to have access to quality education.
